Cooking with Chef Jassi, from Punjab Grill DC
May 15, 2021
Chef Jassi, full name Jaspratap “Jassi” Bindra, was a celebrity chef with media coverage from the Washington Post. He was invited by CAPA-MC to host a zoom meeting demonstration of his traditional cooking. With the help from CAPA, Chef Jassi was able to share an important part of his culture.
Punjab Grill, where Chef Jassi worked during this event, had received Michelin recognition previously. The restaurant strives to bring the cultural heritage of India to DC through their cooking, and by all critical reception is praised for doing so.
“It’s an authentic, beautiful Indian design but we did it in a way that’s relevant and fits D.C. in 2019"
- Karan Singh, CEO of the Punjab Grill group
